The Best Way to Celebrate Valentine's Day
Yes, today is Valentine’s Day in the USA.
A day marked with expressions of love and affection,
especially romantic love.
A time of reflection for the single and the married.
A reminder of how decisions matter and how our choices can
alter our lives forever.
As Christians, married or not, we ought to be first and
foremost thankful to God for the life He has given us and abide in Him, as the
branches are connected to the vine.
The moment we were redeemed by Jesus Christ’s blood
sacrifice on the cross, we received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, Who is
one with Jesus (The Son) and The Father.
At that very instant, our bodies became the Temple of God,
and God in us is the most important reason to celebrate LOVE each day …
If you are single, know that the Lord understands loneliness,
and He does not want anyone to be alone: someone is out there, especially made
for you! Our wonderful Creator knows the desires of your heart and wants you to
become one flesh with that special person, just like at the beginning of
creation:
21 So the Lord God caused
a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his
ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22 And
the Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had
taken from the man and brought her to the man. 23 Then the
man said,
Before Keith and I met, we had gone through marriages and
heartbreak. Yet, there we were, single again, and it seemed we would never find
that special someone designed by God to share life with…
The moment we married, the perfect geometry came to be: a
Holy Triangle!
In this equilateral triangle, God’s perfect plan for
marriage is realized:
God is the top vertex, from which Keith and I originated as
His creations, abiding individually in Him, indwelled by the Holy Spirit.
Then, as God connects directly with Keith and me, we are
also connected as one flesh under God.
Thus, the Holy Triangle of LOVE: one man and one woman equally
yoked in Christ.
If you are a married couple, be first thankful to God for the partner you have chosen for life, and may Valentine’s Day be a reminder
to cherish your spouse every single day.
To the singles (dating or not): remember that choosing a
lifemate for a spouse is a BIG decision, and decisions have eternal
consequences. Pray and let the Lord guide you in the process through His Word.
To the not-yet Christians: God loves you and sent His only
Son to die on the cross for you and redeem you from your sins so you can serve
Him and receive the Peace that transcends all human understanding: The Peace of
Christ. The BIGGEST decision you can
ever make is to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Do it right NOW; do not hesitate!
The best way to Celebrate Valentine’s Day is to be in Christ.
Then and only then can men and women become part of the Holy Triangle designed from the beginning of Creation(on Valentine’s Day and every day)!
