Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaleidoscope), oh only those who look into one actually experience the wonder of those mutant tiny beads.

And our lives can be kaleidoscopes of amazing memories, words, and deeds. Our beads. Made to be turned, round and round, by the Creator's hands. To create shapes and forms of who we can become when we allow Him to move us, turn us, transform our hearts.

'Legiao Urbana', a Brazilian band, in their song "Pais e Filhos" (Parents and Children), reminds me of life's bits and pieces in things parents and children tell each other... and of love:

'We must love people
Like there is no tomorrow
For, if you stop to think,
There really isn't.'

'Parents and Children' ('Pais e Filhos'), by Legiao Urbana:

And here is how I have translated this song from Brazilian Portuguese into English :

Statues and vaults and painted walls
No one knows what went on.
She jumped out the window on the fifth floor.
Nothing's easy to understand.
Go to sleep now,
It's just the wind outside.
I want on your lap! I'm running away from home!
Can I sleep here with you guys?
I'm scared, I had a nightmare.
I'm only back after three.
My son's being named after a Saint,
I want the most beautiful name.

We must love people
Like there's no tomorrow
For, if you stop to think,
There really isn't.

Tell me, why is it that the sky is blue?
Explain the world's great fury.
It's my children
Who look after me.
I live with my mom,
But my dad comes to visit me.
I live on the streets, I have no one,
I live just anywhere.
I've lived in so many places
I can't even remember.
I live with my parents.

We must love people
Like there's no tomorrow
For, if you stop to think,
There really isn't.

I'm a drop of water
I'm a grain of sand
You tell me your parents don't understand you,
But you don't understand your parents.
You blame your parents for everything,
That's absurd.
They're children just like you.
What will you be when you grow up?
............................................

Have you ever stopped to think?

'Carpe Diem', or 'seize the day', this may be all we really have to fill the emptiness. Find meaning.

Parents.
Children.
People.
Beads in the divine kaleidoscope.
Hope.
Can it all start with the love we give today?
